Urdu (اردو)

The Urdu language is spoken mainly in Pakistan, and is closely related to Hindi. It is usually written in Persian script. The Bible was first published in Urdu in 1843, now called the Old Version (OV), which was revised in 1989, 1998 and 2005 called the Revised Version (RV). Urdu-speaking Christians are in Catholic and Protestant communities. Bible work is done by the Pakistan Bible Society.
